Advantages And Disadvantages Of Green Architecture
There are many advantages and disadvantages of green architecture and in what follows I am going to give more information about this topic. First of all you should know that there are more advantages than disadvantages but I am going to mention the disadvantages as well. The truth is that whether we like it or not, using the green buildings and the green architecture will be a must in the future. The natural resources are in the risk of getting depleted and unless we do something about it there is the risk of completely depleting them.
When people think about the green architecture the first think that comes into their mind and which is a disadvantage, is the initial cost. The initial costs for the green buildings are very high, whether we are talking about the solar panels, wind turbines, or the green materials which are used in the process of constructing the buildings. Many materials can not be found locally and this is a problem because the prices will be much higher than in the case of the regular buildings.

Another disadvantage when it comes to the green architecture will be the funding. It will be extremely difficult to find someone who will offer loans for a non-traditional building. Even if you will find a lender, he will more likely impose certain conditions which will be very difficult to meet. The availability of the materials can be a problem as well because you can’t find these materials everywhere. The people who live in a big city or in the proximity of one will not have any problems finding these materials but the ones who don’t live near a big city will. There is a possibility that many materials will require special ordering which means that you will have to pay more money.
Let’s take a look at the disadvantages as well. Like I said, the initial costs for the construction might be pretty high but the truth is that on the long run the green building will be more efficient because the bills will be reduced. There are also various tax-incentives and rebates which are offered to those who decide to construct a green building.

Another benefit is the fact that the green buildings are much healthier than the regular buildings. People spend way more time indoors than outdoors anyway and this is extremely important. You might not know this, but the regular materials found inside the regular buildings might be pretty toxic and harmful for the human health. Since most of the green materials are recyclable this means that the waste will be reduced, thus the pollution will be reduced as well. These are just some of the advantages and disadvantages of green architecture.
