Living green should be more than just a motto or a standard for most of us, but should become more of a common life style because, by respecting nature, we first respect ourselves. In our demanding daily activities we gather more stress than our ancestors gathered in years of war and hunger, not to mention the bad energies attracted and the anger of Mother Nature. And all of this for what? Hundreds of forests are being cut for profit purposes only, massive water and air pollution still exists in almost all cities across the globe, nature isn’t respected at all and we all have a chaotic life style, without respecting any rules of decency or common sense consumerism.

And let’s face it, among all, the first ones that draw themselves back from obeying the rules are the youngsters, who, by nature, defy any forms of regulations or laws. Youngsters and students tend to pollute the most by not carrying too much about the environment or considering the consequences of their actions. But, luckily, they don’t teach them exclusively bad things in school, so that many of the students grow to become ecologists or activists, fighting for the rights of a cleaner and greener environment.

And while most of them are involved in real actions which combine recycling with charity and community service work as well as with the adoption of a more organic and natural life style, there are still some who think that the power of the word has a massive influence upon the masses. This is why, by actions from students to students, they try to draw attention upon the risks of an over consuming world and market and also try to sensitize the audition with touching quotes.

As you may probably guess, there are thousands of quotes and sayings regarding earth, the planet or ecologists actions; some were said by in deed revolutionary men, others are ancient sayings, but all in all, they summarize the quintessence of life itself and try to make people understand better what life truly is about and why nature is so important for us all. A true quote derived from an ancient Kenyan proverb says “Treat the Earth well. It was not given to you by your parents. It was loaned to you by your children”, which is probably best suitable for students and youngsters who always think the world is theirs.

Another quote which should be taken seriously by students and start creating some positive feedback is the Viridian Design Manifesto which says “Do less, with less”, a remark which clearly aimes to make people fully aware of the limited resources our planet has and start creating the same things only by using green technologies.

Who doesn’t know Emeril Lagasse? The American celebrity is a chef, restaurateur, televison personality and author of many cookbooks. And while some of you didn’t have time to read one of his best selling books, I’m sure that at least you’ve watched some of his Food Network shows such as Emeril Live or Essence of Emeril. The American chef calls his cuisine “New New Orleans” and describes it by using local louisian ingredients in various and extraordinary ways.

Being one of the most known and appreciated chefs from entire America, Emeril Lagasse also put his signature on a series of B&G Foods products marketed on the simple name of Emeril’s. The line includes dry grocery products such as pasta sauces, marinades or his signature, the “Essence” spice blend.

His newest book launched on June 1 2010, “Farm to Fork” focuses on embracing the green, organic, healty foods and recipes. The book mainly shows you how to cook up greens, herbs, milk, eggs, cheese, meats, fish, grains or homemade preserves and fresh fruits for each season. Emeril talks a lot about his newest recipes, healthy with little to no cooking, ideal for the summers season which include the Baby Limas, Green and Yellow Beans, Teardrop tomatoes with Mint Vinaigrette or Tomato Tartare seasoned with Fresh Mint Tea. The refreshing drinks chapter includes some delicious recipes such as Tarragon Granita or fresh Watermelon Limeade, while real delight comes from the desert chapter which will please you with some of the yummiest inventions like Nectarine and Mascarpone Tart or Apricot Clafouti.

Yet to follow is one of Emeril’s many delicious and easy to do recipes, the Crostini with Ricotta and Spring Peas. The fresh ricotta is known as being a very versatile ingredient with both sweet and savory preparations and it is used in various shapes and forms to create special and tasteful recipies, a true alchemy of tastes and a delight to all senses. The ingredients you’ll need are the following:

1 baguette or other crusty bread
¼ cup olive oil
¾ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 14-ounce tub ricotta cheese
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon chopped mint
1 tablespoon minced shallots
1 ½ cup spring peas blanched in salted water, shocked and drained*
2 tablespoons finely grated Parmigiano Reggiano
1 teaspoon chopped basil.

First heat the grill to medium-high temperature. Slice the baguetto into 2-3 inch oval slices and brush each slice on one side with olive oil seasoned with 1/8 teaspoon salt and pepper. Grill on both sides until toasted and then put it aside. Sprinkle some salt over 1 teaspoon of minced garlic, then chop the garlic and mash it until it becomes a paste. Now take a bowl and combine the garlic paste, the ricotta, 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, some mint, shallots and some black pepper, then mix them well and set aside.

Take another bowl and mash the spring peas with the fork until you have a mixture of pea halves and paste. Add sald, pepper, minced garlic, some extra virgin olive oil and the remaining mint, as well as parmesan and basil, then stir gently to combine. All you have to do now is spread 1 tablespoon of ricotta mixture onto the grilled breads and enjoy some really delicious starters! Bon apetit, or, as Emeril would say, “Kick it up a notch!”

Living green is by far just an abstract concept invented by ecologists and activists across the Globe who are trying to fight against corporations and massive pollution. In our days, and in the last decade, living green has become more like a religion, and it was adopted by millions of people world wide who are trying to live a better, healthier and greener life and are also trying to learn others do the same thing. Yet, why should we need to learn how to live green?

Isn’t this more like the return of innocence, the return to Mother Nature and her call? Why should we try to learn a thing which should have come out of instinct? Because, during the past 100 years industrialization, massive pollution, corporations and globalization have become more powerful than our conscience and have drown us towards excessive consuming and no limits development, which was harmful both for us as for nature, in the end.

This is why, we have to return now to what our ancestors, grandparents use to live like, to embrace more the organic and natural cultures, to try and avoid paying money for useless things, and, moreover, to try to have a more effective consumption of energy resources and use the regenerating and green ones, such as wind energy, solar or water energy. We also have to reorient towards organic and natural products, no matter we talk about food (fruits and vegetables most important), cleaning products, personal care and hygeine products, or clothes, office work and so on. The bottom line is that there are solutions if we are willing to embrace a healthier and a greener life style which will benefit us as individuals, as well as the generations to come.

And whether we can celebrate different movements or international days such as Turn Off the Lights or Earth Day, it is not scattered actions that we take during these days and events help us keep this Earth a greener place, but individual and daily supported actions, small steps that we can all take without any efforts, time consuming or spending money. So, if you are willing to change your life style and start living green every day, here are some useful tips which will require the minimum of efforts: support local markets and buy local products where available, use reusable canvas bags for your daily groceries in stead of plastic bags, buy organic products when possible.

When eating out, search for restaurants that use local products and related ingredients, as well as for those which apply a green politic. Last, but not least, when traveling, use public transportation instead of renting a car, which will not only cost you cheaper, but you’ll also be able to enjoy the sights, and help diminish gas emissions. Also, try to reuse your towels and sheets during your stay at the hotel or resort, for a more efficient use of resources.

As you can see, we don’t need a special Living green day or the special Earth Day to recall be prudent and less selfish with resources and our life styles. We all need to take small steps and to do it often, so we all, one by one, help create a greener and a better environment for ourselves and our children.

Living green has become lately even more than a global trend, as millions of people worldwide are adopting this particular life style and try to improve their lives by different methods such as cutting gas emissions, recycling or eating more natural and organic products.

Also, many of you already use these organic and eco-friendly products in many of daily activities, such as personal care products or house cleaning products, so that we all contribute, one way or another, to keeping nature a safer and a greener place for ourselves and for our children.

Still, if you are not convinced of the beneficial effects of market natural products but you do want to experience a better living, you can always opt for home made products. You can fabric these products by your own, using the right natural ingredients you chose and you will always be sure of the quality of the ingredients and the benefits of natural products; in addition, you will have a more beautiful skin or a cleaner and nice smelling house.

As most modern synthetic cleaning products are based on age-old formulas, returning to the original naturally derived ingredients is always the best way to obtain cleaning products that work, don’t pollute, are efficient and save you important amounts of money. So, if you want to make your own cleaning and nontoxic kit, you should require no more than a couple of minutes and a few basic products that will supply you with enough product for months of healthy cleaning.

And besides all the benefic effects of home made formulas, taken ounce by ounce, this natural products will cost you about one-tenth the price of their commercial counterparts, with the inclusion of essential oils, natural scents and the cleaning ingredients. With no further introductuions, you can too obtain an efficient house cleaning kit just by purchasing some essential supplies such as: baking soda, washing soda, white distilled vinegar, good liquid soap or detergent, tea tree oil, and, of course, some clean spray bottles and some glass jars.

Now, moving on to some more appealing house made products, are the beauty products you can also make at home so that you always have a good hydrated complexion, appealing lips and soft skin, no matter the season or the money you have. For making green beauty products you will have to purchase the necessary ingredients and then mix them up; you will need supplies of wax, butters, cream bases, earth-based minerals, acids, pigments, fragrance and essential oils, as well as some natural products extracts from avocado, lemon, vanilla, olive oils or honey. The best place where you can purchase these ingredients are at organic food stores as well as from makeup suppliers.

Making a soothing, citrus-flavored lip balm is probably the easiest home made beauty products, as you will only need the following: 1.5 oz of virgin olive oil, 3.5 oz of shea butter, 3 oz of bees wax, 2.5 oz of avocado oil and around 20 drops of sweet orange or orange blossom essential oils. fter you mix up the ingredients and place the mixture in a hot water bath to get the butter and the wax melted, you can pour the liquid mixture into lip balm jars and voila- you’ll have some precious and delicious lips.

And while most of moms are first concerned about their babies, they should also be taking into consideration its health on a longer term and start protecting the nature right now so that their kids will have a better place to live in, a cleaner and greener environment and a less polluted air. It is true that the eco living and the green living has turned into a world trend and that, out of the blue, many people are now activists who fight for a greener and a better place. Not entirely wrong, still not entirely good either. If you want to consider a better nature, you should start by small and individual actions and first of all by improving your life style.

For moms having a healthy life style is essential as it mainly affect the life of their kids also; this is why, it is very important to always look for organic products and house care products which are made only from natural ingredients with small side effects upon children, pets or environment. Especially for moms who breastfeed their babies, the life style is very important because it affects the quality of the milk. So, besides a proper hygiene and a food regime which excludes coffee, caffeine products, tobacco or alcohol, moms should also be aware at what they eat daily and what products they use for personal hygiene.

Shopping for green products, is, in the end, the best choice moms have if they want a good health for their babies as well as for themselves. This is why moms should only buy organic vegetables and fruits, not too fat meat and drink as many water as possible for a proper hydration. In addition, skin care and personal care products should also be made out of natural ingredients exclusively, not contain parabens or harmful chemicals, as well as not have perfume so that the baby only smell the natural scent of the mommy.

For that and for the proper care of your baby, use natural ingredients with calming effects such as lavander, mint or lemongrass as well as water rose. Natural bar soaps are also a good choice as they contain small abrasive cells which clean better the surfaces. Also, for mommies that breastfeed, a special natural-based breast cream is vital to prevent redness and irritations that may occur.

If you are looking for 100% organic products specially designed for mothers and their babies, the best you’ll find is from Organic Motherhood. These are specially designed products to best take care of you during pregnancy and the first months after delivery.

We all know how important it is to keep our skin healthy and good looking. Aside from the cosmetic and apparel impact, a healthy skin will also prevent us from unwanted diseases, mycosis, aches, allergies and so on. And while most of us tend to offer a proper care only to the face skin and, somewhat in the same proportion to hands and body, any times feet are left aside either out of time, either out of preoccupation.

Still, feet are a very important part of our bodies that we need to treat carefully every time we bath or shower, or every day before bed time. Aside from a proper hygiene, our feet can become very picky especially in the hot season. We have to take care of our pedicure, blisters, bumps and so on, so that they will look extraordinary in those high stilletto heels. And speaking of heels, mainly they are the reason why our feet suffer and due to improper shoes we can risk making blisters, our skin to get dry excessively and other problems.

Under these circumstances what can one girl do to assure she will have good looking feet no matter the hour or no matter what she is wearing? There are some simple rules that need to be taken into consideration, just like when you are cleaning or taking care of your skin complexion. First of all, you have to wax/ shave. We all know the importance of smooth legs without unwanted hairs and if you have a sensitive skin, always use moisturizers to prevent leg skin to get all red and irritated. After, always make sure you give your feet a proper treatment, just like on any other surface of the body; you first have to use a peeling gel to get away from all dead cells and have a glowing looking skin, and after you have to apply a foot cream, body butter or any other sooting and hydrating gel.

If you are looking for some natural remedies to keep your feet looking great, here are some tips you might find helpful: after a long day at work, at the end of the day, apply a moisturizing cream and flex the feet from the ankle, pressing the toes and moving them up down – this will relax your feet and improve blood circulation. For cracked heels and skin, you can use rose water mixed with glycerin which is later applied to feet. To remove dead skin surfaces from time to time, never leave the pumice stone.

Also, if you want a natural home-made exfoliant, you can use crushed strawberries with a teaspoon of olive oil and sea salt to remove dead skin. Rub the mixture a trifle hard on the heels, let it stay for 10 to 15 minutes and clean with warm water, then apply a foot cream.

Having a green lifestyle has nothing to do with the environment you are currently living in, not even with the place you currently call “home”. It also doesn’t have much to do with the space you use, because living green can be as satisfying when living in a wonderful villa, as well as living in a cottage or a small, rented apartment in the crowded city. Sure, there are many other options to plant your green ideas when it comes to large and open spaces such as houses with big backyards, but who said that you cannot have a green lifestyle while living in an apartment? Here are some tips and fun ideas you can put in practice for a more convenient lifestyle, which is less harmful for the environment as well as for you. Feel free to enjoy, practice and, why not, “seed” other ideas so that we can all enjoy the green in our apartments!

Make the best out of the space you have.
Never crowd too many furniture pieces in one place if you don’t want your living room to look like a backyard auction. Also, in order to get a greener look, plant as many flowers and plants as possible and use some feng-shui techniques while decorating. Take into consideration the corner you will plant your bonsai or flower, decorate it with river stones and a small waterfall and put it in the right cornet so it will attract good bio-energies which will empower yourself and revigorate the whole atmosphere of the living room!

Go soy with your candles.

Who doesn’t like a little “flavor” for those hot nights? Who doesn’t like small candles across the room for a more romantic atmosphere or for relaxation only? Candles’ light induces quietness and relaxation both to body and to the soul, so used as many as possible, even in a smaller room will have a big effect. Not to mention you save money for energy. Still, if you want a greener way to light your room, you might want to consider using soy candles.

Soy candles are free of petroleum, unlike conventional wax candles, and are nearly soot-free so they won’t pollute the air in your apartment or leave those nasty smoke marks on your walls. They can also burn up to 50% more than normal wax candles and cost around the same as normal ones. Plus you get flavous also, everything for your night of pure relaxation!

Sure, you might think this is not actually a “do-able” idea, but you will take it into consideration if you know that most pets graze on grass for digestive reasons. It won’t take you more than a small corner to put this idea into practice, and give extreme joy to your pets while they will at last stop eating the plants and everything that’s green and natural in the house.

In this article I am going to talk about Arizona living green, more exactly the way you can live a green life. The information included in this article can be applied anywhere, in every state and country. The concept of living green is not exactly new but it is more popular nowadays than it was years ago. More and more people are willing to change their lives in order to live green.

When people hear about green living they immediately assume that this process is very demanding and that the changes they should make are very difficult and that the comfort of their lives will be reduced. This can’t be farther from the truth though, as green living is not a very difficult task to accomplish. There are certain changes which one should make in order to live the green life but they are not radical ones. Many of these changes have more to do with common sense than with certain knowledge one should acquire through various processes.

One of the most important things when it comes to green living is to protect the environment and a great way of doing so is to use less energy than you would normally use. There are various means through which you can accomplish this. One of the best way of saving energy is in your very own home. For example, instead of using regular light bulbs you can choose the LED ones or the CFL ones. The LED and CFL light bulbs are better than the regular ones because they use less energy and because they last way longer than the regular light bulbs.

Instead of using regular devices such as the TV, computer, washing machine, and so on, you have the possibility of using their greener versions, which can be found in almost any store. These devices will cost more money than regular ones but in the long run they are more beneficial from a financial point of view because you will have to pay less money for the bills.

Always try to buy green materials instead of regular materials because, first of all, they are more beneficial for the environment, and secondly, they are beneficial for your health as well. For example many regular household items might be obtained through toxic processes which on the long run can cause serious health issues.

If you have the money you should really consider using green sources of energy as they are more beneficial for the environment and just like the CFL and LED light bulbs they will save you lots of money in time. These are just some of the tips about Arizona living green. Use them and you will see the benefits.

There are lots of chances that you have heard about the term green living, but maybe you don’t know exactly what it is. In what follows I am going to define green living, offering you the proper information, certain things which make the green living and so on. Living green requires a person to live his or her life in such a manner in which he would pollute as less as possible. There are various ways through one could live the green life. There are lots and lots of changes which can be made in order to accomplish this. First of all, many people opt to change their vehicles. As you might know there are already the eco-friendly vehicles available.

These vehicles pollute less than the regular vehicles because they use other means of energy. Instead of oil they can use for example biomass, which is obtained out of decomposing plants, or there is the option of using the alternative sources of energy. The solar power is one of the most popular alternative sources of energy to use but the problem is that currently the vehicles can’t achieve great speeds by using those means and they can’t last too much on that type of energy. The green vehicles are still a work in progress.

Another way of living the green life is to choose a green home. A green home is characterized by the fact that it consumes less energy than a regular home, thus being more energy efficient which on the long run it means that it is less damaging to the environment. There are various ways through which a home can become green. The first way just like in the case of the vehicles is to use alternative energy sources such as the solar power, the wind power, biomass and so on. These means of energy are very beneficial as they are easy to install and are very safe for the environment. The costs for installing them might be high but in time the price difference in the bills will absorb the installation prices.

Another way of turning your home green is to use the energy more efficiently. This can be done in various ways; the best way would be to buy eco-friendly utilities such as TVs, computers, washing machines and so on. There is another way though, and that would be to use the devices in a smart manner. This would mean to completely turn them off when you leave the house, and so on.

Living the green life requires one to use eco-friendly products which would not pollute the environment. Usually these products are recyclable and renewable being made out of materials such as cork or bamboo. This was my way of defining green living.
