Plastic is made of natural, non-renewable resources, such as petroleum, natural gases or coal. Once exhausted, these resources cannot be replaced. Of all recyclable materials, plastic can be recycled and reused with the least effort. Although it was invented in 1860, it has been used widely only in the past 30 years. Five million tons of plastic were consumed in the ‘50s. Today, we are using almost 100 tons of plastic and all over the world there are produced over 80 million tons of plastic.

Most plastic materials are not biodegradable and might persist for even hundreds of years. For example, plastic bags decompose in 20-30 years, while the bottles and other materials containing a large amount of plastic might take even thousands of years.

Plastic has been used in the production of CD cases, video cassettes, vending cups and many others. Nowadays, people recycle plastic and vinyl and manufacture pencils out of these materials. Recycled plastic pencils sharpen as good as wooden pencils and represent a green choice.

Mechanical pencils are also made of plastic; they are easier to use and make drawing and writing more comfortable. Unlike wooden pencils or traditional pencils made of recycled plastic, the mechanical pencil has the advantage of being reusable.

Both mechanical pencils and regular ones contain similar “leads”, a combination of graphite and clay. Most low-cost mechanical pencils are made of polystyrene or other very much alike polymers.

Compared to wooden pencils, mechanical pencils have some advantages:
* You will not need to sharpen them: Once you run out of leads, you can always buy new ones. No matter how much you use the pencil, the line will never be too thick.
* Consistent line: There are many types of leads, which can range from 0.35 to 1 mm thickness. Mechanical pencils are often used in technical drawings, where the thickness of every line plays an important role. Depending on the thickness of the line you have to trace, you can always use mechanical pencils with leads of different thickness.
* Balance: A wood-cased pencil gets shorter and shorter, as it’s used and sharpened. This way, the balance of the pencil changes. In time, it becomes too short to use comfortably.
* Refillable: rather than being used up and disposed of, the pencil can have more leads poured into the top. A mechanical pencil can be used for a long time.

Since wooden pencils are made of wood, it doesn’t take so much energy to produce raw pencil material. Over time, as the pencil is sharpened over and over again, it will become a pile of shavings that can be composted. Still, it has one negative aspect, namely you have to cut down trees in order to manufacture wooden pencils.

The idea of using recycled plastic pencils might not be thrilling, but with all this plastic around us, it is best to recycle and reuse as long as we can.

There is always a definition for any term and recycling is one of them. What does recycling mean for you?

They say recycling green involves taking care of the nature surrounding us, restoring losses we are doing to increase our economies, but that is just the first step to the end . How can we take care of nature when we aren’t capable of recycling the waste from our own homes, the waste from our own rooms, our own kitchen?

How can we make future generations aware of the importance of the term of
recycling green when we don’t even care about it?

I was once into a supermarket, needed some paper for my printer. Passing by the chocolate district I just heard some strange noises. Really interested of what was happening, I just followed the sound and guess what did I see? A little boy, around 5 or 6 years old was screaming and grabbing his grandmother’s dress because he wanted Sinkers. Firstly I started laughing because I was really impressed at the moment and after that just felt sorry for the grandmother. But let’s just focus on our subject. How will you imagine that little child in 25 years?

I bet now everyone is thinking: Oh, all kids are like that! But think about our planet and its almost finished resources. Will this child be able to protect this planet without serving his bigger needs first?

I’ve heard some people saying “ Well, I am all for saving the planet, but it’s just me, or few of us, we can’t just save it by ourselves!”. Don’t be let down by this! Just start on yourself. Make a difference into your home, into your school class, at your job, everywhere. This way everyone surrounding you might not care, but seeing you everyday, they might give it a thought .

And let me tell you this is not just non-sense talking. It is exactly like every-day routine. You might be a father or a mother who loves to make breakfast.

You enjoy drinking a coke to start your day. What could you do? Just take 5 minutes from your time to search on Google a certain group that recycles bottles and Start with your own . Your wife/husband, child might not care firstly. But by seeing you gathering your coke bottles everyday in a plastic bag, they might do this themselves to. Don’t push them! This comes just from inside you after giving it a second thought. Maybe your son/daughter will do the same with they coke bottle at school and who knows? From others to others our lifestyle might just get greener and greener.

Starting with the little things from your own home will give you the strength to save our planet, our nature, our environment in the future.

This time, i think you can just Let Yourself Influenced!!!

Green living is a concept which deals with the necessity of protecting the environment which is very important for all of us nowadays as it influences the way in which we all live and we should all influence it positively so as for us to be able to have a good quality life.

We cannot pretend to have a good life if we do not assure ourselves of its quality and this cannot be done without protecting the environment and without taking care of what kind of decisions we take every day and on what kind of lifestyle we decide to adopt. Every small decision concerning our diet, the products that we eat and use, the amount and type of energy we use and many others are all important in determining the quality of life on earth and in this way the quality of our lives.

If we want to be able to live properly we have to be interested in ways in which this can be made possible. Many ideas are included within the concept of green living and we should all be interested in them and try and put as many such ideas as possible to practice. Recycling is also important to be mentioned when discussing about green living as it is very important and should also be of great interest to us. We should all be aware of the necessity for good recycling to be done by all of us so as for the environment not to be damaged anymore by throwing things away without taking in consideration the effect that these actions can have.

In this respect, it should also be mentioned the necessity and the importance of using recycling waste these days because it presents lots of environmental benefits which in the end will determine for life benefits to be entailed for all of us. For example, recycling paper as one of the aspects related to the green living concept will help us protect the natural environment by protecting the trees used for creating paper and by decreasing the demand of trees in this respect.

Recycling is very important from this point of view and a fundamental aspect related to the green living concept and we should all become aware of it and we should all take it in account if we want to be able to improve the quality of life on earth so as to improve our health and the way in which we can all enjoy living surrounded by a clean environment. When discussing about recycling as an important aspect in the green living concept it should also be mentioned the fact that there have been created many latest recycling technologies which enable us to use recycled types of fiber. Two examples are represented by the Know waste technology and the carpet fiber type of recycling technology.

The first has been created in the idea of offering global solutions for a proper waste disposal management. It relates to hygienic type of products which should be held within a Know waste type of plant which should be able to sterilize these products and in the end to separate each of the components which might be reused in order to be produced recycled fiber in various forms. The latter deals with a technology related to the use of recycled types of fibers such as the nylon. Both of these latest technologies in recycling, an important aspects related to the green living concept are important to be analyzed as certain interesting and useful ideas can be considered from them.

Recycling is vital in a world in which green living should be a concept followed by all of us if we want to improve the quality of life on earth and in this way the quality of our own lives.
