There are lots and lots of green living tips which can help you to change your lifestyle into a healthier one both for you and your family as well as for the environment. In this article I am going to provide you with some tips that will help you make this change. Some might be very simple which might not seem to make any difference but believe me when I say that in these times, any slight change can make a huge positive impact when it comes to protecting the environment. The thought of living green should not scare you as this doesn’t mean that you will have to abandon your house with all its modern commodities and go live in a cave or in a tree.

You can do lots and lots of things in order to live green which do not require too much sacrifices. One of the simplest things that you can do when it comes to living the green life is not to throw away the bags which you receive every time you go shopping. You can use the same bag for very long periods of time. Recycling is a great way to protect the environment. There must be a place in your area where you can take items which can be recycled. Most of these places take cans, bottles, paper, and so on. There are special places where you can take old or broken electrical devices as well.

It is advisable to buy from stores located near your area. The extra driving causes lots of damage to the nature because of the non-renewable sources of energy used to provide power to the vehicles. Yes, I am talking about gasoline. If the store is located close to you, you should walk there, or you could take the bike. You might say that you need the car to transport what you bought, but another green tip is to buy few products at once. Buy just what you need for that particular day and for the following day.

Electricity can be a problem both for the environment and as well for your pockets. Don’t let the devices into stand-by mode because that still uses energy. Completely turn off the computer monitor and the TVs when you aren’t using them. You should turn up the thermostat in the summer and turn it off in the winter, as the temperature difference will barely be noticeable.

Replace your detergent with the eco-friendly washing balls. If you still want to use detergent, set the washing machine to use water at a lower temperature as most of the detergents are able to remove stains at lower temperatures.

As I said, these green living tips are pretty simple and obvious yet most don’t apply them. See if you can make the change.
