Going Green & Environmental Impact
You might have heard of the green movement, the green products, or that certain people are going green. Going green means having a healthier and comfortable lifestyle which does not cause any damage to the environment. There are some easy steps or changes which you can make in order to leave the green life. Going green & environmental impact are closely related.
First of all, one of the best things you could do is to support the local famer’s markets. Buying from a local market means health benefits both for you and for the environment. The food you will buy from such a place is much more nutritious than the regular processed one you can find in the supermarkets. Once you’ve eaten an organic food product you would never want to go back to the processed one, as the difference in taste is incredible.

A difference can be made when it comes to washing your clothes. The newer detergents are powerful enough to remove the stains even when the water is cold, so instead of using warm water for cleaning, use the cold one instead. The energy saved by this simple change is incredible, it is estimated that more than two million houses can use this energy for lighting. Another great change is to use recycled materials or ones which can be recycled. The toilet paper makes no exception; you should buy the one made out of recycled paper.
Stop buying bottled water. The plastic used to create the bottles is very dangerous for the environment especially since most of the people throw it away and no one recycles it. The costs and the energy needed to create plastic bottles are shocking. It is estimated that 100.000 cars could run for an entire year, as 1.5 million barrels of oil are needed yearly for the manufacturing of the bottles. The solution is to buy a water filter and drink tap water. You won’t feel the difference.

The grocery bags or shopping bags can be a problem because most of the people buy them every time they go shopping. That is a waste of money, of energy, and it is very damaging to the environment. The solution is to buy hemp or a cotton bag which you could use over and over again until it breaks. You will save lots of money by doing this simple change.
Get as many houseplants as possible because they are great at removing the indoor air pollutants. Besides the health benefits they also improve the look of your house or of your apartment. There are some which don’t require daily watering, so you shouldn’t be worried that they will die. As you can see, going green & environmental impact go hand in hand. You can make some of these simple changes in order to live a greener and healthier lifestyle.
