In this article I am going to present you what I believe to be some of the best going green jobs. These green jobs belong to the green movement, movement which is starting to become more and more popular throughout the world. It is clear that this year’s job market will be green because Department of Labor promised up to $100 million in Energy Training Partnership Grants. There is not a clear definition of what a green job is because this term can be and it is interpretable. A brief and general description of a green job would be that it is a job which has the main purpose of helping the environment.

Like I said, there are many debatable aspects. For example is a driver who transports green materials on very long distances a green worker or not? He could be considered a green worker because he transports materials which are in the benefit on the environment but at the same time the long transport distance causes pollution. These green jobs can also be considered temporary because one has a green job for as long as a particular project exists. Is an architect who designs a green building a green worker just until the project is over, or can he be considered a green worker even afterwards?

One of the jobs which could become very popular in 2010 is the organic food distributor and organic farmer. I know farming is not new but the truth is that in the last years, organic farmeing has become less and less popular. Most farmers would rather use chemicals and various substances for their products because that’s what attractes customers. They want big and shiny fruits or vegetables without caring about the way in which they were raised. This seems to change now, as people prefer natural products instead of chemical obtained ones.

Another profession which could be lucrative is the green carpeting one. Once again, carpeting is not new but using renewable and recyclable materials instead of certain types of wood is. The energy retro-fitter is a new profession. The main job of the person who owns such a profession is to install certain devices into one’s home in order to make the house more energy efficient and to reduce the carbon footprint.

One of the most popular green jobs could be the that of a solar installer. More and more people are starting to use alternative energy sources instead of regular ones and solar power is the most popular. Installing solar panels could prove to be very lucrative, but you should keep in mind that you should have certain knowledge in the domain. These were some of the best going green jobs.
