Green Color Living Rooms

Redecorating your living room can always be a source of stress, money waste and loads of nervs and time spent. And not always you get the result you want, now don’t you? Still, if you are looking to do this on your own or don’t have enough resources to pay a high-priced interior decorator, you might want to take into consideration the following.

First of all, it’s easy to be trendy or a trend setter if you chose the green theme. This doesn’t necessarily include to paint all walls in green and add some more green furniture, but it actually refers to a set of rules to be followed if you are a nature lover: try using green materials and recycled ones, or at least add as many plants and natural thing in the living room. This will not only add the impression of a larger space, but it will also induce a state of calm and relaxation. Also use river rocks or small sources of water like a mini fountain near the green corner you create, to induce even more the quiet and peace inner state.

Secondly, if you consider the second most popular color in whole America, find out that it is green. This is not only the color of nature, but it is often associated with growth. Using green can still be challenging as it is not easily matched with, but it still induces a state of calm to the whole room. Fainted tones of green such as mint green or lemon-green will give the room a whole new appearance and will contribute to keeping a balanced interior if associated with earth colors and materials, including shades of gold and yellow copper.

Avoid sickly greens and use nature as your guide to mix and match colors into a green themed living room. You can also combine different styles and time periods in the same room, with the condition of an existing balance between them. You can combine different shades o f green which include turqoise, jade green and yellow-green for cohesive and sophisticated look. And while you might want to keep the furniture in either white or massive wood, feel free to use your imagination when it comes to details and accessories: combine turqoise curtains with electric green or jade- green vases and a green-grass like or multicolored carpet.

Accessorize all with girlish, flowered-pattern sets of pillows and you will make the best out of your living room. If you dare to be more eclectic in the style of your living room, you can always opt for a more vibrant color combination, such as the one between green and red.

The two are complementary colors and might give a huge visual impact of your room; a hunter green sofa, for example, accented with red cushions will provide an elegant combination while adding style and color to the entire room.
