Green Energy Facts

The renewable energy is no longer in its early developing stages, but it’s becoming a reality. Throughout the entire world, renewable energy is starting to become used instead of the traditional one.  Nowadays people start to care more and more about the nature and the environment. They want to protect the nature, as they have realized the amount of damage they have caused with all the pollution. In this article I’m going to provide you some green energy facts and if you are one of the people who care about nature, then you will most likely be interested in this topic. First thing first, I would like to give you a brief definition of general energy.

Human life all over the world is supported with the aid of energy. TVs, computers, cars, they all run on energy. Energy is produced by using certain resources which have the ability of generating power. There are two types of classification of the energy: renewable and non-renewable.  90% of the energy from the entire world is non-renewable energy, which has a negative impact on the environment. Many experts believed that in less than 100 years, the non-renewable sources of energy will not be our primary sources of power.

Here are some of the facts:

Only 1% of the green energy is being used to produce energy around the entire world.

The renewable energy uses fuel that burns clean, whereas it has the name of “clean energy” or “green power”.

Hydro power is using the energy provided by the oceans and the rivers. Solar energy is using the energy provided by the sun. Wind power is using the energy provided by the wind. Geothermal energy is using the energy provided by the hot water deposits which can be found bellow the Earth’s crust. Biomass energy is using the energy produced by biological sources such as fertilizers, wood, and crop.

The largest wind turbines in the world are located in Hawaii. The height of these turbines is 20 stores high.

Vermont was the first place where one of the first modern turbines was built. The year was 1940.

The current turbine power industries can produce power for 600.000 families in the territory of the United States of America.

The largest renewable energy source in the U.S is the biomass. This country has more than 200 biopower plants which provide energy for almost 2 million homes. Biomass energy is also very popular in China and Brazil. In Brazil, the sugarcane is converted into ethanol, whereas in China, animal wasted is used.

More than 300 homes can receive energy from a single wind powered turbine.

The largest complex of geothermal energy is located in the United States of America, in the state of California and it has the capacity of producing nearly 1500 megawatts.

If the sun would be collected at its maximum potential, the sunlight could provide energy for the entire planet for a year.

I hope you enjoyed these green energy facts.
