The conceptions of humans have changed when it comes to the environment, as in the latest years more and more movements have appeared which promote “the green life”. What is the green life you ask? Well, the green life, or living green supposes that one should live his life in such a manner that it will not affect in a negative manner the environment.




Of course this doesn’t mean that it will have to sacrifice its own comfort in order to be more eco-friendly as the changes that he or she should make are numerous and simple in most of the cases. One could opt for example to choose certain green products instead of the regular ones which might be harmful for the environment, or choose alternate sources of energy, and so on.

In this topic I will discuss about the green jobs, which grow constantly with each passing month, and year. Some say that they are the jobs of the future while others say that the green jobs are temporary. Let’s find out what the real answer is. The problem can and should be analyzed from various points of view. First of all it is unclear when a job can be considered green. There are many definitions for a green job and the conditions that a job should meet in order to be green vary from case to case. Second, you should know that a green job is not exactly a new job which requires newly invented skills. No, a green job is a job which helps the environment, but the skills used to do so are taken from other domains.

If I confused you with this statement, I’ll give you an explanation. For example a welder which has learnt his skills long time ago might be asked to use his skills in order to construct a wind turbine. We could say that he has a green job because the wind turbines will be beneficial for the environment. What happens once the project is over? He doesn’t have a green job anymore. As I said, the concept of green job depends on exactly what one does in a certain moment.

If we take the problem that way we could say that the green jobs are temporary, but giving the fact that the green movement is in full motion, they might and will certainly provide career paths. For example one job which is in very high demand and which is supposed to bring thousand of working places is the one of the urban planner. He or she will have to initiate certain programs which would aware the population on the consequences of polluting and to try to convince them to change their lifestyles. As I said, the problem depends on how you look at it.
