New York City And Green Jobs
When you think at New York City, or the Big Apple as some refer to, you don’t actually see a green city, now do you? NYC is more known for its crowded streets, full boulevards and gigantic buildings all around, so you won’t see much of the green spaces in the city as you would want to. Trees are a rarity due to massive pollution, and parks are mainly refer to as “once upon a time” things, or at least, ready to be preserved as natural wonders. But while the whole city suffocates people both on vertical as on orizontal, many other look up for more green solutions, whether it is just by “adopting” a tree, raising a plant or looking for a green, unpolluted spot. Sure, the massive pollution and the highly agitated life can only lead to overstress, so no wonder that many people are now looking for alternative solutions, whether is feng-shui bars, rooms or houses, spas or organic slash natural slash bio slash healthy daily products. So it comes as no surprise that in the last years, millions of people understood that if they don’t start protecting nature and living a healthier life, they will die sooner, get tired and old earlier and feel stressed most of the time, not to mention that they will destroy the environment of future billions of people generations.
And, under these circumstances, what it is to do? It sounds idyllic to quit your job, move to the suburbs to a nice house surrounded by green spaces and tall trees, or at least eat organic and healthy food, fresh fruits and vegetables daily. But for most of us who actually live in the crowdy New York, these things mainly remain fantasies, or, at least, casual things that you do once a week/month, whenever you have some time for yourself and for your your soul.
Still, there are others that understood the importance of protecting the environment and thought about giving a hand in helping fight excessive pollution and novice factors that destroy the nature; these people are the so-called green collar jobbers, that have ecologic jobs that don’t harm the nature or the people near it.
Greencollarblog.org is a place where you can find green collar jobs, the best ways to go for a job. An example of such a job are various positions offered by the Recycle Bank in New York City. The company provides financial benefits for households to recycle and is looking for a PR Manafer and a Design Print Production Assistant pertaining to environmental and social responsibilities. Another green job that you can find within the New York City is a controller position, on the Council of the Environment.
Bottom line is that, if you are looking for an environmental job, that kind of one which will help you protect nature or at least not arm it more, you have chances to find everything you want, as more and more people adopted the “bio” trend and are looking, even only out of publicity and selfish reasons, to help one why or another our beloved nature.
