I don't want to enter again greenhome.com, because I believe that I have presented every single product that is available on that site (I'm kidding, there you can find hundreds of products and obviously I haven't presented them all), but I don't want to enter that site for this article. Instead, I will type on Google of that I am interested in some green home products and see what the future holds for me. It holds a very interesting surprise, which is represented by the site named buygreen.com

The categories of this site are really interesting; because you can the see on your screen only the products that are created for consumers and if you are a company, you can see what are the products created for professionals, for those that hold companies that construct green buildings, that use green supplies, in other words which activate in the green industry. The products that are included in these 2 main categories are also included in other small categories, but not subcategories. For example the categories in the main Consumer category are: You & Your Family, Home, Work and Leisure. The small categories presented by the Commercial main category are: The Office, Industries, Supplies, Building Materials.

Build Your Green Home (Source: buygreen.com)

You can see what are the featured brands, the new arrivals, you can make some decisions here by selecting some products that can be offered as gifts and you can see what are the products on sale. I don't really get this last feature of the site, because I believe that every product that is presented here is on sale. Probably I am mistaking it, who knows. Anyway, let's go back to our small categories that I have presented earlier.

Build Your Green Home (Source: buygreen.com)

The products that are created for yourself and for your own family refer to products created for babies, for kids, for women, men, products that are included in the Personal Care section, products that are created for your animals and other accessories.

If you are referring to the home products and most likely that you want to get some whole product if you want to build a green house, you can find plenty of products here, divided into many categories or small categories (I don't even know): furniture, bedroom and bed products, green decor, electronics, supplies, cleaning products, kitchen product, bathroom and bath items, remodel, energy-saving products, garden and landscape products and more. These are the product destined to your home. But why only your home should be a green place? Why the office should not be green also? You can get some green supplies for your work office as well from this site.

We were taught that fresh vegetables are healthier than the cooked ones. This is only one of the myths about vegetables discovered by researchers.

1. Fresh vegetables are healthier than frozen vegetables

In fact, studies showed that sometimes the frozen vegetables contain more nutrients than the fresh vegetables, depending on how much the products stood on shelves. Vegetables are starting to lose their quality as soon as they were collected. Thus, preferred are vegetables that were frozen shortly after being collected to those who did two weeks on the way to your table.

2. Cooked vegetables have fewer nutrients than fresh vegetables

It depends on the vegetable. Through the cooking process are destroyed nutrients such as vitamin C and folic acid, but others are released. For example, is released the vitamin A and other essential elements for digestion from fibers. Moreover, after cooking, the body will easily absorb lycopene from vegetables, an important anticancer antioxidant, found in the tomato juice.

3. Iceberg lettuce does not contain nutrients

It is true that iceberg lettuce is mainly composed of water so that it does not contains many vitamins but consumed in average amounts can bring an important contribution of protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals.

5 false myths about vegetables

4. Potatoes make you fat

The potatoes contain no fat and have few calories. These delicious and cheap vegetables contain a healthy dose of fiber, which gives the feeling of satiety for a long time. The problem is not the potatoes themselves, but how they are usually cooked: roasted or blended with other products that are very fat (butter or cream).

5. Wrapped salad is cleaner

Probably the bags with already washed and cut salad are more attractive when you want to save time in the kitchen. But beware! The wrapped salad is far from being cleaner enough. The studies show that 39% of salad bags contain bacteria which are indicators of poor hygiene of the vegetables. It is best to wash the products at home, regardless of how they are presented in the shop and even if on the bags writes that they are clean.

5 false myths about vegetables

Taking into account all these aspects, do not forget a detail that makes the difference: it is best for you and for your health to buy bio vegetables. Nothing can be healthier than a vegetable grown organically, without pesticides or other chemicals that can harm your organism. The Eco vegetables are a real fountain of health. You can live green and with a little effort you can have your own free, organic vegetables in your backyard!

Who wouldn’t like to change even a little bit of their daily habits, especially when it comes to the food regime and adopt a lighter diet, even a more balanced one based more on natural and organic food products, which are both tasteful and full of nutrients good for our health? But let’s face it- most of us don’t really afford either to do our basic groceries to specialized shops that sell this sort of products, either we lack necessary time to do it as often as we would want to. Yet, none of us denies the true benefits of an organic diet, rich in vitamins and olygo elements which protect our entire body and help us fight more efficiently against diseases and viruses, as well as to grow strong and healthy.

But thank God, in the last decade, the main market of organic and green food products has developed massively, and now basically everything you would wish for it is sold also in its “green” option. And when I say anything, I truly mean anything- from sauces to dressings, fruits, vegetables, meats or even ready-to-serve dishes, they all went green in the constant desire to satisfy even the most demanding clients on the market! And the basic economic rule says that where there is demand, there is also a supply, willing to fulfill those clients’ demands.

This is why, during the last decade, countless firms and corporations dealing with organic and natural products have developed, trying to cover this need of humans to live a greener life, to breath a more fresh air and to return to the “inocent” values that our ancestors had.

One of these firms is represented by Green Valley Food products, Inc., which is one of the best in the area with a more than national recognition. The firm is based in the city of Dallas, Texas and follows the strict standards and requirements of the Brassica Sprout Group. The company’s catchy motto, “Let’s Grow Healthy Together” emphasizes the company’s mission to provide healthy seeds and products to the consumers, so that they can grow healthy crops or eat healthier meals with organic abd tasteful products.

Their products are sold in a various number of shops and supermarkets, including Walmart, Tom Thumb and Whole Food, and among the products sold you can easily identify some of the following: spicy sprouts, soy bean sprouts, tofu, wheat grass, broccoli sprouts, as well as snow pea sprouts or onion sprouts.

If you join Green Valley Food‘s website, at www.greenvalleyfood.com, you will also find a section with tasteful and mouth-watering recipes which you can too try, of course with the help of their additional products. My suggestions are, by far, the Veggie Omelet with BroccoSprouts or the Vegetable Pizza. Or why not go mediteranean with the Greek Stuffed Chicken, of course, with the BroccoSprouts. All I have to say more is bon appetit and enjoy a healthy life style with Green Valley products company!

We all love to eat, now don’t we? We’re constantly looking for new recipes, go to new restaurants, try exotic cousin filled with mesmerizing scents and spices and we fall in love, every time, with a new salad or a fresh dish out of fish or pork. Sure, there are countless recipes and cookbooks available on the market so that everyone, and I mean everyone, could learn how to become an excellent cook and compete with experimented chefs, if they truly want to learn the culinary art.

And after a well deserved home cooked meal, what’s better than to sit over a cup of coffee, or, on the contrary, set the mood with a glass of red wine near the chimney? Yes, it truly sounds amazing, but what about all the mess left in the kitchen? What about those uncleaned, filled with grease plates and those dirty dishes, not to mention the mess and the dirty oven? Who’s going to clean those out, and, especially, when if the mood is so good and you just want to chill out after a stressful day at work?

Of course, there are dozens of chemical solutions and products that promise they will help you clean out all the mess and leave all dishes clear as crystal, not to mention with a good and fresh smell. But are those chemical products really good for our health? Think it over, as more than 40% of the people who use chemical products to clean their houses develop allergies sooner or later, and even get serious complications that require hospital internment. In order to get your house all cleaned up without having to appeal to specialized firms that can cost you large amounts of money, green technologies promise you healthy and clean surfaces, all around!

And what are exactly those green technologies? Well, we all know that the green industry has developed massively during the last decade, as people have become more and more aware of the risks involved in the daily use of harmful, chemical products, and they appealed to organic alternative home made cleaning products and methods which not only will do the same good job, but will protect the environment as well. As for the difficult cleaning surfaces in the kitchen such as the oven, the green industry suggests you try some home made natural and organic products which will guarantee you the good work and will freshen up the zone as well.

Believe it or not, you can clean your oven safely with nothing but baking soda and water, so you should definitely give it a try. You can clean your oven without using strong chemicals bought from household companies, you can have an oven as fresh as new, without even scrubbing, just by using baking soda and normal water; the key is to use enough of the mineral.

The last decade started in a good shape for developers of green industries and products; the fascinating climbing of the whole green market was revealed in figures that outcame even the most optimistic results, people speaking now of billions of dollars invested in green technologies, organic products and green architectures, buildings or industrial goods. The good things? Finally, people are getting more aware and conscious about the prints they leave upon Earth and nature, and really start to show some appreciation for mother nature by actions which imply recycling, collecting litter, planting more trees or helping local farms to produce more natural and organic products which can be later sold in various shops.

Some other extra strong points? There was enough room for a new industry of goods to be developed, as well as the market of green buildings which gained popularity both in Europe as well as in the United States of America. More and more people are turning sites to a more responsible and natural life style, by buying organic food and care products, taking more care of the environment and building their houses according to the green standards of environment.

Green homes imply a lot of things, not only moving from over crowded and polluted big cities to the suburbs; building a green home means you first of all need some green materials such as wood, recycled plastic or other organic materials that might come in hand, including glass, bamboo wood and others. In addition, a green house always has to have green and efficient energy resources and use energy from solar panels, wind turbines or small water generators, enough to heat and keep the whole house moving. Speaking of energy based on water, there are numerous ways to keep water warm by applying green methods instead of conventional heating methods.

The first, most efficient and lass expensive method is to install solar panels throughout the house, that will capture solar energy and then convey it into energy which will power your plugins, TVs, air conditioning, computers and so on. You can also enjoy a nice warm bath because solar energy can provide you enough amounts of energy to do all your daily activities, without wondering about over consumption or fat bills at the end of the month. Not to mention it is the greenest and most effective way to use energy plus it will help you save enough money for a good vacation overseas where you won’t have to worry about anything.

If you want to keep all your new green house warm throughout winter and chilly and cozy in the summer, you might want to consider the following: put your greenhouse somewhere sheltered, but where it can take full advantage of winter sun. And, first of al, don’t heat more than you need to- divide your house into sections and only apply heating methods to those areas you frequently use; for example, there’s no need to heat the guest room if you don’t have guests or the extra bedroom if it’s not used, the same way with bathrooms or kitchens which can become warm enough by turning in the oven.

Cleaning your house can always be a tough job to do, even for those of us who do have enough spare time to do it as often as we should! But let’s face it- daily stress, job problems, kids, pets – all these make our lifes enough busy so whenever we come home from work all we want to do is sit quiet and enjoy some moments of silence and relaxation, not start panicking about how dirty is the whole house and how many hours will it take us to clean it up! Sure, we can appeal to specialized companies that do that for us but how many of us really afford paying a few hundreds of bucks weekly just for cleaning the house?

And there’s always the chemicals too; cleaning products tend to be excessively toxic and polluting so most of us can be prone to allergies due to their usage, not to mention the most sensitive ones like dogs, cats or our children. So that there’s always tricky to start cleaning out our house, what is there left to do? One solution would be, just like before, to pay more attention on the products we buy, use protection equipment like gloves or masks.

The best and viable solution would be to turn green. The market of green products is already having enormous sales across the globe as more and more people want to protect themselves as well as the environment and use less toxic products and substances, natural and organic goods and so on. Of course, the cleaning market is also a zone of interest for most of us, and in fact, who wouldn’t want to buy natural products to keep our houses clean? But what about making your own green cleaning products?

There are many effective natural products that can be used to clean grease, dirt or freshen the air, and most of them are very common in the culinary arts, such as the baking soda or the lemon juice. Lemon juice can be used to eliminate odors from the bathroom, while the baking soda will help you clean all surfaces you want, from bathroom to kitchen, leaving crystal clear areas.

Not sure you can do this by yourself? Still need some extra help from finite products? You can purchase thousands of green and natural goodies that will help you in the cleaning process from sites such as www.greenhome.com, www.realgoods.com or www.gaiam.com. All you have to do now is start making your cleaning process fun and easy, or, why not, turn it into a fun experience kids can participate to too!

The green home design used to be popular because of rather small tax credits. The concept started developing a few years ago and easily caught on the market as the new trend in constructions, a more environment-friendly alternative to the traditional buildings and constructions. The green home design includes energetic efficiency and designing for your particular area climate. In addition, the whole green home design is sustainable and can even become a reflection of one’s self, as a rational human being as well as a responsible one.

The green home design, also referred to as the healthy home is one that incorporates healthy design elements, non-toxic building materials as well as proper construction techniques. It is also the kind of home that “breathes”, emits no toxic gases, is resistant to mold as well as to “moody” weather and can be a proper future investition. Once you invest in a green home, you are sure that, besides the fact that you are contributing to keeping the environment clean, you will also live a healthier life, not more frugal but rather economic, by paying smaller energy and gas bills and enjoying more a fresh and green nature.

New homes are usually made out of products or materials that are either made of, or have been treated with a whole series of dangerous chemicals, so under these circumstances, how can we think of our safety and health, not to the mention about the one of the whole environment? By choosing a green home design you can build the same home with the same features, high-quality, durable, as well as with non toxic products or materials at no additional costs whatsoever. Still not convinced? Find out that you can buy a natural property and design your own perfect house, from foundation to top and engineers will design it especially for you, out of your specific indications! You can chose everything, from the materials used to the interior decor, as well as alternative energy resources for a more effective consumption!

All that plus a decent backyard, maybe some trees or a little forest, and, why not, on a larger property even a waterfall or a small forest, a swing and many other bed-time like stories features. All you have to do is dare to want more, create a suitable plan and then hire a competent architect who will transform your dream into reality with no bigger costs than the construction of a house made of ordinary materials.

You are still wondering about the benefits of such constructions? The green designed houses are safer, more comfortable and require less maintenance. A healthy and green home is also more energy efficient and will provide the perfect environment for your kids, pets and the entire family.

Building your own home sounds like a dream to just everyone you ask. From foundation to the roof, backyard to interiors, imagine how fun (and so much work) would it be to create your dream home. And while many still prefer the life in condos in over-crowded cities, some others take into consideration the alternative, the sub-urbs house. A place where you can have enough room for a nice backyard, maybe with a little fountain or a waterfall, dozens of trees and flowers blooming everywhere. A green place is almost a luxury for many of us in our days, but what if we could build our own green home?

There are plenty of developers now that offer green projects, with houses built on your direct specifications, but which also respect the environment and help keeping the nature clean. So, if this sounds appealing for you and you are looking to have your own home in the near feature, maybe some of the following will come in hand:

If you go to www.greenisuniversal.com you will have a nice surprise; built on a rather simple platform, there is also the option to play an online game in which you can design your perfect house, as green and ecological as you want. In the very constructive game you have a budget of 100,000 dollars and some features to chose from, so that you can create the best house, using the minimum of resources and making it as effective as possible. Besides the fact that allows you to spend around 5-10 minutes of constructive time, you can also learn some important values from the game such as the best materials to build from, each clime, its goods and drawbacks and, of course, the best ways to produce or recycle energy in order to have low-prices bills and maximum efficiency. So that, you find out things about best green materials like wood, brick, earthen or recycled. Using alternative energy items such as solar panels, heating, wind power generators or hydroelectricity will make your construction up to 300% more efficient than a common home that uses non of the above. In terms of efficiency items, buying energy efficient lightning or using recycled materials will also help you have a greener house. Using the smart home technology will help you save wasted energy, water and heating.

All in all, the game doesn’t have the purpose to entertain only, but to draw a message to those of you interesting in building a green house that respects nature and the environment, and which will also make you spend less money on monthly charges. Not to mention it will provide you with unlimited sources of energy that you can later use to power an intelligent system that will run through your entire home, from refrigerator to computer, AC and loads more.

Lately, the construction of green homes has become increasingly prosperous. The building materials used in this case are eco-friendly and have little impact on the environment.

For constructing a house, a large variety of construction materials are needed, such as bricks, wood, cement, lime, etc. Not only are trees being cut down every year, but in the process of obtaining construction materials harmful substances are being released into the atmosphere.

Using green building materials would reduce the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere.

Following materials are considered eco-friendly: Recycled products, Long lasting products, Products which can be found in nature and represent renewable resources, Products which generate little or no pollution.

During construction it is best to use less polluting materials, which shouldn’t hold in their composition too many harmful chemicals. A more elaborate thinking is expected from every architect, because the choices which he makes are crucial, as they affect the shape, aesthetics and the structure of the green home, not to mention the costs.

Below you will find some suggestions of green materials, which can be used in the construction of green homes:

Medium-density Fiberboards for the outside, to protect the house against cold winters, hot summers and wind; it provides additional insulation, prevents moisture from penetrating the layers of insulation and behaves as an isolated layer.

Fiberboards for indoor use have a high capacity of absorbing and afterwards releasing moisture, keeping the entire structure of the house dry.

Natural paints for interior and exterior walls. In the past, binders used for natural paint were made of bones, starch or leather, but nowadays, we use methylcellulose which has a higher quality and is less polluting.

Reinforced Concrete with natural or artificial fibers, lightweight aggregate concrete, eco-friendly cement with a reduced carbon percentage of 40%.

Recycled building materials, such as nonwoven geotextiles and cotton and polyester for insulation

The latest construction materials are aerogel (a porous solid with the lowest bulk density, which delivers outstanding performance in the field of insulation) and electrochromic and thermochromic windows

Using solar power for generating heat and electricity are of major importance in the construction of green homes. The use of solar panels is already widespread and will continue to expand in the near future. Photovoltaic solar panels produce energy without fuel consumption. Energy is stored in batteries and can be used at night or later on. The only disadvantage of using photovoltaic systems is that photovoltaic panels require convenient location. Wind energy represents also a green alternative, when it comes to generating electricity. It is used extensively today which has developed rapidly over the past few years. The problem is that the wind turbines must be placed in locations constantly high wind speed.

There is always a definition for any term and recycling is one of them. What does recycling mean for you?

They say recycling green involves taking care of the nature surrounding us, restoring losses we are doing to increase our economies, but that is just the first step to the end . How can we take care of nature when we aren’t capable of recycling the waste from our own homes, the waste from our own rooms, our own kitchen?

How can we make future generations aware of the importance of the term of
recycling green when we don’t even care about it?

I was once into a supermarket, needed some paper for my printer. Passing by the chocolate district I just heard some strange noises. Really interested of what was happening, I just followed the sound and guess what did I see? A little boy, around 5 or 6 years old was screaming and grabbing his grandmother’s dress because he wanted Sinkers. Firstly I started laughing because I was really impressed at the moment and after that just felt sorry for the grandmother. But let’s just focus on our subject. How will you imagine that little child in 25 years?

I bet now everyone is thinking: Oh, all kids are like that! But think about our planet and its almost finished resources. Will this child be able to protect this planet without serving his bigger needs first?

I’ve heard some people saying “ Well, I am all for saving the planet, but it’s just me, or few of us, we can’t just save it by ourselves!”. Don’t be let down by this! Just start on yourself. Make a difference into your home, into your school class, at your job, everywhere. This way everyone surrounding you might not care, but seeing you everyday, they might give it a thought .

And let me tell you this is not just non-sense talking. It is exactly like every-day routine. You might be a father or a mother who loves to make breakfast.

You enjoy drinking a coke to start your day. What could you do? Just take 5 minutes from your time to search on Google a certain group that recycles bottles and Start with your own . Your wife/husband, child might not care firstly. But by seeing you gathering your coke bottles everyday in a plastic bag, they might do this themselves to. Don’t push them! This comes just from inside you after giving it a second thought. Maybe your son/daughter will do the same with they coke bottle at school and who knows? From others to others our lifestyle might just get greener and greener.

Starting with the little things from your own home will give you the strength to save our planet, our nature, our environment in the future.

This time, i think you can just Let Yourself Influenced!!!
